| SYNOPSIS:
There
are two indisputable truths: we live, we die. But dying in
some horrible way brings a third truth, we become a ghost!
And if we're a ghost, then just like everyone else we damn
well need somewhere to live. Okay, we may not have any legs
left or have a body without a head but family is family! The
Craggyfords have happily co-existed in their wonderfully dank
and disgusting castle for hundreds of years. Then some clever
so-and-so decides that homeless people need homes, so smash
up the ruins and put up condos instead.
Suddenly
the ghosts of England find themselves roaming the countryside
looking for sanctuary. But like all good dark and mysterious
stories, there is a rather nasty twist in the tale. Behind
‘Project Rejuvenate' is one man, an American man called Brad.
Now Brad is actually over a hundred and fifty years old, but
you wouldn't know by looking at him. And no plastic surgeon
has ever touched a hair on his head. Brad (otherwise known
as Barnabus, and there lies another twist in the tale) has
discovered the answer to eternal life: death! Suck the ectoplasm
out of a ghost and they turn to vapour whilst you get a massive
injection of longevity.
In
a cross between The Addams Family and Beetlejuice and inspired
by James Bond, The Great Ghost Rescue is a very funny and
really quite scary inversion of life as we know it. In this
world the ghosts are our heroes and the living, well some
of them anyway, are the people we fear.
