A terrible disease is sweeping the country’s livestock. As government trucks arrive on a farm, the tension is palpable. The Woods Family are helpless as they witness their animals burn on a pyre. Despair pervades the now silent farm, the father is broken and the mother’s bravery to carry on for her two children dissolves as she collapses leaving her young daughter Rose to find her.

Ten years later, Ruby agrees to join her boyfriend Harry and his daughter Freya on a weekend camping trip to prove she can fit into their little family unit, but when their car hits a sheep and goes off the road they are forced to pitch their tent beside a long-neglected farm miles from anywhere. When Harry goes to tell the farmer about the accident the next morning he vanishes, leaving Ruby and Freya to put aside their differences to go look for him. An oppressive farmer and his abused son soon capture the girls under the orders of Rose, a psychotic young matriarch, they are in a horrific human battery-farm and together they must fight for their survival.
