The Ten O’Clock People
Stephen King (Short Story)
The Ten O’Clock People tells the tale of Brandon Pearson, (Jay Baruchel) a down on his luck smoker who is so desperate to kick the habit that he begins treatment using a cessation drug. But his willpower crumbles and he picks up the cigarettes once more. With remnants of a popular drug still in his system, chilling side effects are triggered that reveal a truly terrifying aspect of reality – an insidious reality in which many people in authority are monsters in disguise.
The Ten O’Clock People first appeared in King’s 1993 horror collection Nightmares and Dreamscapes. The story has been adapted and directed by Tom Holland. Tom Holland has a long history in horror, having helmed Child’s Play and 1985’s Fright Night.
